Why is my vape bubbling? In most cases, liquid has collected where only air should be: in the coil, the airflow channel or the chimney. A soft crackle while you puff is normal, since that's e-liquid turning into vapor on a hot coil. Loud crackling, gurgling or bubbling usually means the coil is flooded, the wattage is too low for the coil, or condensation has built up inside the pod or tank. Clearing the trapped liquid, setting the power inside the coil's range and filling carefully fixes most of it.

Why Is My Vape Bubbling?
Vape bubbling, the gurgling sound you hear from the pod or tank, happens when e-liquid ends up in the path the air is supposed to take. When you draw, air pulls through that liquid instead of flowing cleanly over the coil. Three things usually put it there.
1. Too Much Liquid in the Coil
Overfilling, filling with the airflow open, or a coil that soaks up more liquid than it can vaporize all leave the wick and coil wet. The excess sits in the coil's center, and every puff makes it gurgle. Overfilling is also one of the most common causes of vape leaks.
2. Condensation in the Chimney or Airflow Channel
Some vapor cools and turns back into liquid before it reaches your mouth. Over a day or two, those droplets collect in the chimney, the mouthpiece and the air channel under the pod. Short, frequent puffs make it worse, because the vapor cools before it clears the device.
3. Blocked or Partly Covered Airflow
If liquid or residue partly blocks the airflow holes, the draw gets tighter and air pulls harder through whatever liquid is sitting near the coil. Covering the airflow holes with your fingers has the same effect.
Bubbles Inside the Tank
If you can see bubbles rising through the e-liquid as you take a puff, that's usually fine. The coil draws liquid in through its wicking holes, and air moves into the tank to replace it. It becomes a problem only if bubbles keep coming when you aren't vaping, or the tank is also leaking. That points to a seal that isn't sitting right.
How to Stop a Vape from Bubbling
- Remove the pod or tank and wipe the base and contacts dry with a tissue.
- Clear the trapped liquid. Wrap a tissue around the bottom of the pod or tank and blow gently through the mouthpiece to push liquid out of the coil and air channel. A couple of firm flicks downward also works.
- Dry the chimney. Roll a tissue or use a cotton swab to soak up the liquid in the mouthpiece.
- Check the airflow holes on the device and the pod. Wipe away any liquid or residue.
- Fill to the max line, not past it, and close the airflow while you refill a tank if it has an adjustable airflow ring.

Why Is My Vape Crackling?
Vape crackling is the popping or hissing you hear as e-liquid hits the hot coil. A gentle crackle is normal. A loud, uneven crackle that gets worse puff after puff means the coil isn't heating the liquid as cleanly as it should.
Common Causes
- A flooded coil. When there's more liquid on the coil than it can vaporize, the excess boils and pops.
- Wattage below the coil's range. A coil that's underpowered warms the liquid without vaporizing all of it, so it sputters.
- Thin e-liquid in a low-resistance coil. High-PG liquid is thinner and flows into the cotton faster. In a low-resistance coil built for thicker, higher-VG liquid, it can flood the wick. (Thick liquid in a tight mouth-to-lung coil causes the opposite problem: dry, burnt-tasting hits.)
- An old coil. Residue on a worn coil heats unevenly and tends to crackle more.
How to Fix a Crackling Vape
- Set the wattage inside the coil's rated range. If it's crackling at the bottom of the range, go up a step at a time. VAPORESSO lists ranges on each coil page. On GTX coils, for example, the 0.8Ω mesh is rated for 12–16W and the 0.2Ω mesh for 45–60W.

Why Is My Vape Spitting?
Spitting is the next step after bubbling and crackling. Liquid that has flooded the coil gets flung up the chimney as hot droplets instead of turning into vapor. The causes overlap with crackling: a flooded wick, condensation in the chimney and wattage set too low. Habits That Prevent Popping and Gurgling
- Fill carefully. Stop at the max line and wipe any liquid off the outside of the pod before you put it back.
- Keep the device upright when you put it down, so liquid doesn't settle in the air channel.
- Take steady, gentle puffs. Very hard or very short puffs pull extra liquid into the coil and leave more condensation behind.
- Wipe out the chimney and pod base every few days.
- Run the coil inside its range and replace it once flavor fades or the noise won't go away.
