Benefits of vaping: UK endorses vaping for 'Stoptober'

HarryHarry

According to those in the know, the UK quite far ahead of the US when it comes research and support of vaping as a viable alternative to smoking. Public Health England were one of the first reputable medical bodies in the world to come out and say that vaping was 95% less harmful than smoking cigarettes, and more smokers should make the switch. For the past several years, the UK has made October the month for kicking bad habits, and 'Stoptober' is a campaign to get smokers to give up. It has huge support across the country, from billboard advertising to television campaigns, and lots of people get on board.

The difference in 2017? They're fully endorsing vaping as a way to kick the habit.

It's a bold move, but one that many vapers will be fully supportive of. After all, most vapers where, at one stage, smokers themselves. It's been proven countless times by now that vaping is far less harmful smoking, containing zero tobacco and as much (or as little) nicotine as people want. It's the perfect vehicle for weaning yourself off nicotine altogether, and once you've done that smoking cigarettes doesn't really hold any kind of allure anymore.

Endorsing vaping for Stoptober

The campaign is already in full swing. Online commercials call vaping a “great way to combat nicotine cravings”, while acknowledging that vape kits present “a fraction of the risk” of normal tobacco cigarettes. The BBC are also saying that vaping was "most popular tool for quitting" in 2016, and that's why they're throwing so much weight behind it this year. The Scottish NHS body recently openly recommended vaping too, saying, "If we are trying to help people make a decision about giving up smoking tobacco then e-cigarettes are a good option to consider".

It signals a real turning point in the vaping industry for consumers.

A gamechanger for vaping?

To our knowledge, this is the first time in history a health body as large as this has fully endorsed vaping, and the effects following the this month will interesting to note. As smokers diminish and cigarettes are phased out, it's highly likely that vaping will step in to take its place. That could be great news for fellow vapers looking for more competitive pricing and advancements in tech. The more cash people spend on vaping, the stronger the market will become, and that means choice.
