One of the questions many newcomers to the world of vaping have, is whether or not it can help them quit smoking. For some, vaping is a hobbyist's dream; endlessly modding their vaping device to enhance the vaping experience in different ways. For others, vaping is something they like to do hassle free when they're out with friends. Then there are cigarette smokers who look at the world of vaping and think, "Will this really help me quit smoking?".
A government published report from Public Health England recently stated that vaping is around 95% less harmful than smoking tobacco. An increasing number of medical reports are surfacing that tell of the benefits of vaping over smoking, and as a result more and more people are taking an interest. After all, we're a health conscious society and if a cleaner and more affordable way of getting that 'fix' is available, why wouldn't we take it?
Making the switch from smoking to vaping is easy for some, but incredible difficult for others. There's no doubt that the two offer different experiences, but one thing to remember about vaping is the range of options available in terms of strength, density, flavour and more. For some it may be just a case of finding the right vaping setup to help them make the switch, and that can take a bit of time and experimentation.
Beyond that, here are some things you can do to help you quit smoking and start vaping.
Out of sight, out of mind
Once you've invested in your first vaping kit and learned how to use it, keep it close. Make sure it's always within reach and visible, so that when you get that urge you'll reach for your vaping device instead of your cigarettes. If possible, it's best not to have any cigarrettes around, but if you must keep them make sure you keep them stored away somewhere that's a chore to get to. Rather than go routing around in a box on the top shelf or driving to the shop for some cigarettes, you're far more likely to carry on vaping. Make it easy for yourself.
Experiment with different devices
Vaping is incredibly cost effective when it comes down to it. You'll spend a lot less on e-juice throughout your life than you would on tabacco filled cigarettes. However, at the beginning it might be good to invest in a few different vape starter kits to get a feel for how they work and what you might like. Just because you have a negative vaping experience with one device, doesn't mean vaping isn't for you. You just need to find something that works.
Try different flavours and nicotine levels
Similarly, you should also experience with different types of e-juice and different strengths. You may find a particular flavour that you adore after sampling a few different types, and getting that nicotine balance right is essential for making the switch from smoking to vaping. You may find that you have to experiment a lot in this department to find something that your body is happy with, but it'll be worth it in the end. If you're serious about quitting altogether, you could eventually go for a nicotine-free juice; a tactic lots of quitters employ to help them get over the final stages.
Research vaping online
We live in an information age and there's a great deal of information to explore online. Do your research, read customer reviews and ask vaping experts about the various options available. There are hundreds of different brands, mods and combinations you can choose from, not to mention the variety of juices available. Before you take you first steps into the world of vaping, do a bit of research. It might just save you a bit of a cash and help you find the perfect vaping device a little quicker...
